Isidorians Celebrate Christmas 2014

Isidorians Celebrate Christmas 2014
By Andrea Lyn H. Banocnoc

Last December 18 2014, the students of San Isidro Catholic School held their Christmas party.

The celebration started with the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist with Msgr. Cesar B. Pagulayan, our parish priest as the main presider with our school chaplain, Fr. Amado V. Gino as co- celebrant. In this mass we didn’t only celebrate the spirit of Christmas as one community but we also honored in advance the Sacerdotal Anniversary of Msgr. Cesar Pagulayan. And to celebrate his years in priesthood, the school prepared a guessing game participated by certain students and teachers. Also to give a message of thanks, a chosen student, John Carlo Damian delivered his message of gratitude. All of us had a great time.

After the Eucharistic celebration, all the students went to their own classrooms to begin the party, each section prepared a program to be followed. This program includes games for the students, exchanging gifts, and last but not the least the “kainan part” would not be missed. Almost all classes decided to have pot luck for their food so that everyone will share with one another. After the Classroom Christmas Party, the grade school students were dismissed.

Then the high school department started their Kapatiran Christmas Party. The program was hosted by Mikko Paulino and Margarette Dimen, from the fourth year level. It started with an opening prayer and a message, then the presentation of each Kapatiran begun. Different kinds of presentations were done including singing, interpretative dancing even midget dancing, all the students were having great fun. But the program must end, and it concluded with a closing prayer lead by David Pasumbal.

This is how the Isidorians remembered the birth of Jesus Christ and His blessings of love and sharing. ©

Welcome to the New School Year!

Welcome to the New School Year!
By Karen Crizel M. Bayongan

Classes opened in SICS last June 16, 2014. The school’s theme this year 2014-2015 is “Banal at Bayani, Ikaw Na!”

As usual, students were eager to see their classmates, teachers and especially their friends whom upon seeing them, seemed like there’s no more tomorrow for their never ending stories, laughter and happiness. After exchanging memories and experiences, the students were all gathered in the Isidrome for the praise and worship. After this the students were given time to do some homeroom welcome activities to prepare themselves for their role as Isidorians.

The old students were very kind and accommodating with the new ones and made them feel that they are welcome and they belong to the SICS family. For one week, students were able to learn again the school’s policies, guidelines, vision, mission, core values, identity and the history.

On June 23, 2014, the students were gathered as one family to celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit, the first institutional Eucharistic celebration for this school year. The mass was presided by the new School Director, Rev. Fr. Maxell Lowell C. Aranilla, Ph.D., who was celebrating his birthday, together with the new Assistant School Director, Rev. Fr. John Rany P. Geraldino. It was also the day that the school administrators, staffs, teaching and non-teaching personnel were introduced to us.

As the new school year comes, we all know that we will be going through good and bad times with each other. But let us remember that the Lord is also with us. Let us all inspire each other as we journey this year of holy heroes! ©

Isidorian Way of the World Teacher’s Day

Isidorian Way of the World Teacher’s Day
By Cristyl B. Tobongbanua

The Isidorian community celebrated the World Teacher’s day last October 3, 2014, for the students to show gratitude to their teachers. It was held around 12:30pm at the Isidrome.

With the help of the Office for Students Affairs, the student leaders consisting of the school’s Aerospace Cadets of the Philippines Officers, BEC Kapatiran Leaders and Student Coordinating Body, were able to put together a program for the teachers.

Upon the arrival, the students, guided by their leaders, escorted the teachers to their seats in the venue.

To formally open, Mr. Anthony Valeriano, Human Resource Officer, gave the opening remarks and facilitated a game called “Sa Pula, Sa Puti” afterwards where the teachers get to share what’s on their mind to the students.

“I enjoyed the simple program. I had fun when the teachers answered the questions and were able to express themselves in front of the students.” Ms. Erica Decilos, Math teacher of the High school department, said in an interview.

Students from the 9th grade and 4th year level presented songs to entertain and express their appreciation to their teachers.

While the students are singing, a slide presentation showing teachers in action was presented and some gave their gifts as  tokens of love and respect for their educators.

After the gift giving of the students, Christopher Miranda, 4th year SCB representative, gave a speech for the teachers on behalf of all the students.

The Non teaching personnel also dedicated a song for the teachers called “Closer You and I.”

The program was followed by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. ©
